very difficult to steal, nearly impossible. they use sidewinder keys that need to be programmed (micro-chipped) specifically for your car. even if you get it cut, the key won't start the car unless the key is programmed. i just programmed new keys for my car and my wifes, it took forever. on top of that, there's only three keys allowed per vehicle.

insurance is cheap.

safety... haven't crashed yet, don't know?

everyone know that if they want it bad enough they can get it, ie a flatbed, tow truck, or just a crazy smart and well educated in the technology field.
but these cars are extremely hard to steal by common car thiefs. our cars are not worth the crazy amounts of money they where years ago. and are not in high demand.

and gs-r i think he means integra gs-r, easy as heck to steal. hondas in general are probably the easiest ones to steal. and yes that is speaking from experience. not myself being a thief but had it happen to me and saw someone do it to my car right infront of me, and i had an aftermarket alarm.

I'd be more worried about someone coming with a flatbed. Other then that, not a concern.

Seems to me he may be shopping for a new ride, since his Integra is gone. So he's making sure that whatever he decides on isnt as easily taken.

I havent heard about alot of them getting stolen but I am sure it does happen. I think the older SC gets stolen more often than the GS does as they are older, probably easier to steal. I remember seeing a few posts and they seem to have been about the SC.

Insurance isnt too bad but again depends on your situation. I havent driven anything but a GS for awhile so I dont know what the cost would really be in comparison to others.

All in all, the GS is a much different than the integra, obviously. You owe it to yourself to take one for a test drive and see if its for you.

Sorry to hear about the Integra.

Hondas and Acuras used to be high on the list for cars stolen (maybe they still are)... actually made me change my mind about one along time ago. I parked outside at night and wasn't interested in dealing with it.

These cars are very easy to steal, technically speaking. People just don't know how to bypass the security/theft-deterrent system. But the theory is very simple. But I will leave it at that.
