Removing Wood Trim
Hey Gang - Anyone know how to remove the interior wood trim on a 98 GS400? I am looking to put some 3M Carbon Fiber over it to give the interior a more sporty and updated look. I'm sure the door panel wood trims are easy enough to remove but its the one piece wood trim around the shifter and heated seats and ETC buttons that I am worried about. I don't want to damage or crack it but I'm thinking it shouldn't be too difficult to remove as long as I know how or where the clips are located.
Is there a DIY already posted on this?
Here is the link to the carbon fiber kit I'm looking to buy. As always, any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

the center console wood grain is easy to remove.
first...key in ignition...turn to ON position...then shift to "D" drive....unscrew ****.
open door to ashtray....pull ashtray assembly straigtht out....disconnect cigarrette lighter plug...remove and place to the side.
open arm rest unit....using a flathead screwdriver...wedge it under wood console unit near the PWR/seat heater/VSC buttons...and the leather...slowly massage the wood unit up...pull that end up....and detach the PWR/seat heater/VSC buttons plugs...then pull slightly up and out (towards the back seat).
DONE!!!
