You should try the wet sanding/clear coat method, it's easy with great results. Mrjokester turned me onto this clear coat which is amazing stuff.

Yeah, that looks like a good way to go. They also make a special kit for headlights which includes primer and clearcoat - http://www.spraymax.com/index.php?id=695&L=1

Where can you buy this stuff?

I bought it at a local auto paint store, cause I was to impatient to wait for it to come in the mail it's like $25 a can but worth it. Iirc, you can get it on Amazon. They make a couple different clear coats, you want the high gloss. I'll post a picture of the can I used below. Also make sure you wear a good mask when you use this stuff. It's pretty serious stuff and if you inhale it, it'll harden in your lungs.

hate to bump this but im in the market for some replacements. Ive buffed mine and only lasted a summer. I didnt clear coat them though. Whats the best route to go with? Stick with the green tint non factory hids? I see some on ebay but im not sure the quality and i dont think they are oem. How much is involved going from non hid to factory hid if i have aftermarket hid bulbs?

Try wet sanding and clear coat before you buy new ones. It's very easy and you get great results that last. It takes longer to tape them off, then to sand and spray.

Yeah but u said u didn't clear coat them so, there's nothing protecting the work u did. After a couple months(if even that) they're gonna be messed up again.
