Default P0750: Shift Solenoid "A" Malfunction

Car:
98 GS400 180k miles+
Last transmission fluid change was at 127k miles
I hardly ever drive this car hard...I just want it to be a more fun dd.

Symptom:
- Transmission takes forever to engage from a complete stop.
From a complete stop, I rev to about 1000rpm and the car crawls forward (like snow mode, but worse), and transmission jerks into 1st for a second or two, then jerks into 2nd. It's fine after that, just starting from a complete stop.
- P0750, Shift Solenoid "A" Malfunction. No other lights, VSC, ABS, etc light not on.
Shift solenoid stuck open
Blocked oil passage
is what I am getting per CEL.

Drivetrain related mods:
3.76 final and Torsen LSD from a Supra turbo
No power adding mods (unless you count a RMM intake)

I have no idea what it is. I searched using the keyword P0750 but only ONE thread came up. I looked around for other threads, like the one where someone fixed it by getting a new battery but my car starts just fine. I am praying to the Lexus gods that I just need the transmission fluid changed. If not, I'm not sure what to do.

Any constructive help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Post Script:
I'm starting to think it's electrical and not mechanical. The reason I think so is because the transmission started to act up out of the blue. It didn't feel like it was something mechanical. Also found a PDF of an exploded diagram of the A650. I'm starting to think it's one of the 700-706H. Which looks like a PITA to fix.

Awesome information! Glad to hear that you only got charge 240 for a faulty solenoid bc I am guessing that's my case as well. and wow, you're such a generous person...100 dollar tip!?

I'm wondering if it is the same issue...I have a P0750, but also came back as Shift Solenoid "A" malfunction.

and I could not agree with you anymore with the dealership issue...well, at least the wrong ones. Take it to the right one and you should be ok. At least thats what I learned. I might post up my story sometime soon.

LOL bro the dealer wanted 4000 for the tranny (without labor). That dude saved me 3700 dollars + for his honesty. A hundred dollars is a nothing. I hope every thing turns out well.

I just wanted to share my story. I have 2003 Lexus ES300. My car has a rebuilt salvage title (fresh water flood). The car was working fine until one day it would not shift to overdrive. The computer showed "shift solenoid A" malfunction. Took the car to the dealership. I thought they would be able to diagnose the problem better than the guys in Autozone. They told me I need to replace my transmission which would cost $4,500. I went ahead and purchased a used transmission with 75k miles and my buddy replaced it. The car had the same problems - no overdrive.

Finally, I took the car to a transmission shop. They said that there is no power to the solenoid A and suggested to replace the computer. I bought a used computer for $75. Took the car to the dealership, They reprogrammed the key for $100 and transmission works like a charm.
