molding lip question
what materials are used when molding a stock bumper to a tte lip? could i use a tte replica? i believe they are made out of fiberglass though. i would like an authentic tte because it is polyurathane and therefor will "flex" alittle. anyone who has this mod please chime in. thanks

I remember last year there was a member who posted up in a for sale thread in the 2GS classifieds about a replica TTE lip that was available. He wasn't selling it but had said that there was one in the market. I tried searching for it but the thread that I think it was in may have been cleaned up by the mods. Perhaps that guy will see your thread and chime in. Regardless I would still go for the real deal especially since many guys here have molded it to their bumpers already and that's the route you're going.

vis makes the replica it is called the techno-r. i would like to get a authentic tte but only because it is polyurathane and not fiberglass. i just want to know what materials are used in the mating of the bumper and lip? because if fiberglass is used then it doent make a difference if the lip is fiberglass. i dont want it to crack going up a drive way or something. so peeps with a molded lip please tell me the cons of doing this mod please and thanks.

i am not going to do the work but i was just curious if i could use a replica lip made of fiberglass. i want to make sure that the oem plastic bumper and the fiberglass will mold properly. or is the real tte is better to use.
sooooooooooooooo which is better in the long run and will hold up better when molding? a fiberglass piece or a tte lip?
