Whistling sound only at 39 MPHs???
My car gets a strange whistling sound something like that of engine noise from a bad stereo install but it only does this at 38 or 39 MPHs.
It only does this when the car is warm i.e. the temperature gauge is close to the 1/2 way mark. It doesn't do it when the temperature gauge is close to C.
Turning off the radio or chaning the volume has no impact it still does it. Having the heat on or off has no impact. I've tried opening and closing my windows still happens.
Everything I've tried makes no difference in terms of the pitch of the noise or how loud the noise is, its still the same.
I have stock ML Sound system.
No battery light on my dashboard so they only thing that I would guess is that the alternator may be a little worn and could possibly be dieing?
Lastly, I've had the car since summer and it just started doing this about 2 or 3 weeks ago. About 2 weeks ago my car didn't startup because of a weak battery. I recharged the battery and was able to start it up.
Any comments, suggestions or ideas?

LOL, despite it being many years old I still laugh when I see his face because I instantly remember the video... I guess we must be talking about two different sounds. The sound I heard would whirl at 39/40mph...anything before or after that, it would be quiet.

This same thing popped up in my GS4 recently, and I'm 100% sure it's not coming out of the speakers. I'm pretty sure it's actually coming from the air intake. The P/O installed a K&N and it probably needs to be oiled oooor something happened (rock hit? ice forming?) to make a pin-hole somewhere that whistles at a certain speed.

my guess (especially given that its ML, which by the way stands for MEGA LAME) is a bad ground somewhere in the stereo system. My old 300 used to do that with the stock radio, but it was RPM dependent (step on the gas, revs up, pitch of whistle up) so I finally got around to tearing the radio out and wouldn't you know it, somehow one of the nuts that the antenna was grounded to was loose.
