Default how many quarts of oil for a 05 gs300?

im going to change the oil of my friends 05 gs300 and we need to know how many quarts to use. he bought the car used and it didnt come with a manual. i tried searching but only found answers for the gs400 which was 5.5-6 quarts.

how many quarts for the 05 300? THANKS

found it on google in 15 seconds.

5.4 w/out oil filter
5.7 w/oil filter

Who the eff changes oil without changing the filter anyway?

Some shops require the procedure of pre-filling the filter first, and then filling up the engine afterwards. They give both specs for that reason

that sounds right, but i drain my oil till nothing comes out. takes like 6 q total or a lil more, i forgot. but SYNTHETIC all the way. =]

I don't know or remember what the true purpose of that is. It was something that my father told me to do when I first started to change oil and have been doing so ever since.

^^ You simply just pour a little bit of the new oil inside the filter.
