Default What to use to stick 'L' emblem on steering wheel

I have a '00 GS which does not have a chrome lexus emblem on the wheel, BUT I found one on ebay that fits over the molded 'L' on the wheel label.

What suggestions for keeping it on there? tape won't work due to size of the emblem. Crazy Glue?

I wouldn't do it. I have not been in a severe enough accident where the airbag deployed so I don't know where the cover will separate. If it is not held down well enough, the emblem can become a potential flying projectile. I would also hate for the emblem to somehow impede the functionality of the airbag.

Then tell me, all 2001's and up have the emblem. Wouldn't these be a 'potential flying projectile' as well?

I think its a different type of air bag and a different system, so no. But when you have a huge L on your fore head you will be giving Lexus free advertising space.

JB Weld. I know it sounds crazy, but if you don't want it coming off in an accident, that'd be your best bet.

Or just some nice 3M double sided, and live with the 2 mm gap you'll have.

The 98-00 airbag's L is imprinted on the leather. The 01-05 ones are on a plastic center while the leather surrounds it. Different system altogether.

I assume you know what your airbag looks like. Here are the newer ones for reference. I borrowed it from another thread.

The airbag should come apart around the plastic center. No flying projectile.

Yes, and to the OP the ones from ebay don't fit properly even with the double sided tape..

I bought two different ones and they were both shiat.. I guess my advice would be to get a upgraded steering wheel.. Those ebay sellers are shady...
