Default camber questions

went and got an alignment done at the dealer today after my coilover install, and apparently they did it but couldnt put it all the way to stock. The mechanic said something about getting "camber hats" for the front and a camber kit for the rear. I thought our cars came with camber adjustment built in no? If so what do I need to get so I don't have buy new tires every 3 months?

Thanks

We do have eccentric camber bolts, but the adjustment window is not nearly enough for moderate to low drops, at least if you want to get back to 'oem' specs.

Not sure what a 'camber hat' is. Currently the solution to reduce camber in the front is to get new Upper control arms with balljoint adjustments, or get RCAs and raise up your car however thick the RCAs are (will still maintain drop height). For the rears, the RCAs can be applied with the same concept. I know SPC makes a rear kit for our cars. Don't know if any other brand has anything.

1. WTF does RCA stand for.
2. How much and where?
3. How big of a pain is the install
4. Can I borrow some money?

They are the same thing, Exact is what most people are going with since they have been around for a while but it is a block of aluminum so not much chance for anything to go wrong lest it be bolts breaking from overtorquing.

I'm not exactly sure I believe Sage might have been a few dollars cheaper but dont quote me on it.

dude first of all what are your specs?

you dont need this ****, suspension guys loop out about camber for no reason. its more to do with toe that kills your tyres. i have -2.5 all round and have had for about 1 year, i havent even flipped my tyres yet and i daily my car..ive done like 15000KMs (not miles, im in australia ) and theyre still good.

unless you really need it dont worry. also the main thing that differs with the RCAs is one is thicker than the other between sage and exact. they space out the suspenion which artificially provides around 1" drop meaning you can raise your coilovers up 1" allowing you to remove the 'natural camber' that occurs with lowering. But you dont "need" it.

believe it or not, some people like the look of -2 Plus degrees of camber & need that much for their wheels to fit right *puts hand up*

I have 3gs rims with 20mm spacers in back and 15mmin front. The guy at the stealership told me that there is no way he could put the rears back to stock and that I will be buying new tires every 6 months. At $300 a tire that would really suck.
