I was wondering if they were still around, I think it was those guys that did some CL group buys way way back. My wheel is starting to show a little age, I might have to check with them over the winter when the car is parked!

Are these very rare in a GS? My wife's '01 has this steering wheel and I would have assumed them to be common in a Lexus.

Like 90% of all GS430's have the wood steering wheel.

The 01-03 RX steering wheel WILL NOT work with your 98-00 GS airbag. I mean, it will work but it will not fit right. They have different shapes to them. The 01-03 RX airbag is the only single stage airbag with the dual stage (chrome L) look. Once you get the single stage 01-03 RX airbag you can then use a 01-05 GS wheel (dual stage airbag), 02+ SC wheel (dual stage airbag), 02-06 ES wheel (dual stage airbag), or 01-03 RX wheel (single stage airbag w/ dual stage shape). There may be some others I'm missing. So again, if you go with the newer style wheel, you will need the single stage 01-03 RX airbag to work with your single stage GS400. P.S. I have had 5 different wheels & airbags on my 98 GS400. Also, there is a way to wire a dual stage airbag into a single. Search the SC3/4 section if you feel comfortable doing it.

I actually have a practically brand new aftermarket one from Grazio&Co. I've only had it for 3 days. But I got a really good deal on a JDM black wood interior so I am going to go with a black wood one instead.

This steering wheel is really good quality and has the perforated leather with the sports grip and the wood is a perfect match with the interior parts. It's originally for the 01-04 GS but can easily be installed to the 98-00 GS as long as you have the 01-04 airbag which I also have.

I bought the steering wheel for $630 and the airbag for $350. But I decided to change my interior all to black wood instead. If you buy both I'll sell em to you for only $700 plus shipping. Please let me know
