Thanks!! Yeah it seems like the faster I'm going the more extra power I'm getting. It's really noticeable on the highway. It pulls effortlessly from 80mph-100mph+ in 5th gear without even downshifting!

This looks interesting but seriously, is this something worth doing? I just have a drop in K&N air filter but have doubts that this mod will offer better results then just having the filter alone.

If you have a GS300 I'm not sure if you'll notice as much of a gain or power difference. It still can't hurt to try though. More cooler air is better for any application in my book

You stole my idea my friend j/k we had the exact setup except my tuble is smaller than your ..that was it. It didnt matter u had GS300 or GS400 you will notice the difference in power...trust me on this (especially on top end).

You both still haven't considered the idea that it'll suck in water. If water is heavy enough and the suction aint that great (thanks to the stock inlet)... it would be fine.

I'm not too concerned with the whole water issue since I live in a mostly desert climate besides the winter. Also the angle in which the tube that is snaked down to the bumper is almost vertical at one point and seeing that it can barely hold a piece of paper via suction at 3K RPM, I'm not too worried about it being able to suck up water all the way up through the filter and into the engine. And I only think that would also have a possibility of happening if the whole front end of the car was submerged in water. But I will say that if I lived in Seattle or something i would be more worried about doing such a mod!

So you haven't noticed any low-end sluggishness? If there's no loss of low end and I'm sure I won't suck in water this looks really interesting!

I have a K&N FIPK intake on my 400--I wonder if adding the tube to direct cool airflow at the cone would add any power...?

I haven't noticed any low end sluggishness at all thus far If anything it feels a tad quicker off the line and really picks up power the higher the rpm's get!

I'll have to give this some thought then, wouldn't mind a little extra power for $20. The loss of low end is what scared me away from the aftermarket intakes like SRT; this may be a good compromise. Thanks for the pics!
