Default What do you guys think about this 'extended warranty'?

Sorry mods I should of posted this in the maintenance but more people view this section. (if you need to move this please do so)

I just saw it on tv and was wondering what your thoughts on it.

Are you affiliated with, or are you selling [various auto manufacturers] factory warranties? We are not affiliated with any automotive dealers. As one of the largest brokers in the country, we work with top vendors of extended auto warranties—not factory manufacturers. As such, our services step in when your vehicle's factory coverage expires.

Here is a faq from their website. Looks like they are only a broker. So really they are a middle man. I was looking for their insurance rating and they do not post. I believe this is why. Go to this website for some info.

I would stay away, most of these warranties cover nothing when it actually come's down to repairs.

not true, i work for a dealer, and warranty is the best thing. i refused to put extended warranty, now my compressor gave and im stuck paying $800 in parts only i give go warranty....

i always wondered about those warranties, considering i just dropped over 2k for my oil pan seal

I've had good luck with one, bad luck with another. My most recent was with a company called C.A.R.S. ( complete auto repair services ) they were great, they paid for about $1300 or so in repairs, in 2 seperate claims, this was on another vehicle, not on the Lex.

I don't remeber the name of the other company, it's been about 8 years ago, but they sucked, my output shaft on my tranny broke, they would not cover it.....
