Default replaced lower ball joints, but still some noise

So I replaced my lower ball joint because of the noise and because I noticed they were torn, but despite of changing them I still hear some clancking noise coming from that area. I checked my tie rods and they seemed ok, but I did noticed one leaked some grease when pressed out. Do you guys think the tie rod ends need to be replaced, or could it be something else? The car has 64K on the clock! Let me know what you think guys.

Later

tire rods are cheap, if its leaking grease just replace it. You need to be more specific about the noise its making (what side of the car, when it does it...etc)

front, really can't tell, but only when backing up to the garage...it's freaking annoying and yes, I will buy the tie rod ends...I just didn't have them when I replaced the lower ball joints. I'll just have someone do it for me cuz yesterday I tore my freaking Achilles tendon so I'm stock!!!!

My car does this too- after replacing springs, shocks, ball joints, and tie rods. My mechanic (who is a long-time Lexus guru, owner, and mechanic) says the 2GSs just have "noisy" end links that are prone to clicking.

Evidently it's just part of the deal

Don't let it bother you too much.

For some reason the JDM Front Strut Tower Bar has alleviated most of my end link noise...not sure why that would be. It doesn't really make noise any more. If you're interested, istundra has one for sale in the classifieds right now.

If you say just when backing up, it's most likely the brakes are aligning themselves. Completely normal. Happens to me every morning.

I notice the slight click once in a while too, as GS4 Fiend said, I think it's the brakes.

This is good to know now that I'm taking an hour and half long trip to get surgery on my foot. lol

I did notice the breaks are noisy when I changed my ball joints, but it is annoying as hell. I'll replace the end links whenever I have a chance just for peace of mind.
Also, are the brake pads suppose to be wedge off like this:

I just replaced my lower tie rod ends, and I was amazed how the old ones looked fine, but when you take them off the car you can feel how much play they have. It is especially evident when you put the new ones on. Steering is very crisp and deliberate.

I also had a wierd clicking/clunking noise when the suspension moved. Since I replaced the tie rod ends, it has not returned.

Do the tire rod ends and good luck.

I'm thinking it could be your strut mount/bearing. the tower brace could be helping brace a slightly worn mount and making it less noisy. My car is doing the same thing right now. I will be replacing them this week.

Keep us posted on that. Let us know if the noise went away after replacing the mounts from the struts. Thanks. Sounds and noise are soo common for GS's but no one knows the truth.
