Default anyone shave fenders past the spot welds?

Are you able to shave past the spot welds, THEN PULL the fender, without ruining anything?

I was to shave the fender lip flush, then pull. PLEASE HELP!

yes I've shave the fender past the welds and than had to bring it to the shop to get rewelded as the outer and inner skin had seperated.

I would have to believe that if you went past the spot welds and then did a pull that you would have to have it re-welded (just like above). Once you go past those spot welds the structural integrity of the fenders has been jeopardized. Even if nothing happened right away, you should have a trusted bodyshop take a quick peak to make sure everything is okay.

If you gonna do it, make sure to get it welded back up. Good luck!

looks like I will only shave to the spot weld, then have them rolled, even though this will make it harder to get as much pull as necessary.

To shave the fenders use a potato peeler to trim the fender lip away. It makes a nice smooth surface afterwards.

To cut the fenders use a pair of industrial strength scissors to cut the sheet metal, this doesn't leave as smooth a finish on the inside but goes a lot faster.
