Default 18" or 19" rims?

I am having a really hard time deciding whether to get 18 inch or 19 inch rims. I don't want to give up a smooth ride and any blow outs or anything. Give me your argument whether to go either 18" or 19". Is it that big of a difference? I would rather hear from people who have my car with + size rims than a American Tires Tech. Convince me! Thanks CL!

Just went from 16s to 18s. I think that's the max for me. It DID affect ride comfort and I certainly wouldn't go to a larger wheel personally. I'm happy where I'm at and don't have the itch to go larger. Not only that, the price of tires got pricey. Ouch!!

Are you on stock suspension? Are you staying on stock or dropping it?

If you are on stock suspension I say full face 18 inch - 06+ GS 5 spokes or G spiders. I don't think much else will look correct. Aftermarket 18's seem to age the look of the car to me. On OE suspension you should not be able to feel the difference from 17's to 18's. I went to 19's on my OE suspension for a few weeks and it rode exactly the same as on 17's.

If you currently are or are planning to be lowered I say deep dish 19 inch aftermarkets of your choice and there many choices. Not a OE ride but definitely not harsh at least in my case. Your choice of lowering setups and brands will affect this.

Do you have some wheels in mind that you would care to share with us?

I have 19" wheels. I would honestly say if I had it to do over again I would go 18 or 20. The tires for the 19" rims are expensive. I am running the fat set-up and that may effect the pricing.

i find my ride quality has a lot to do with my suspension. i had stock 16s with 205/60/16s and with my coilovers damper set to soft it was softer than stock, with it set hard it was bouncy as heck. Went up to 19s with stretch running around 40psi tyre pressures, it is rough now but i have to have it set to HArd on my coilover damping so i dont bottom out. If i wound it back softer on the damping, i reckon i could easily acheive a ride that felt like stock.

You know ever since I seen Debonair car pics i LOVE the TSW Snettertons! I am currently looking for the 18's to buy.
I had this same question, 18 or 19's! I run stock suspension and for now haven't upgraded anything other than a K&N filter and changed the LED for the alarm to a super bright blue one.
The best price I seen around Modesto, CA is about 200 each and that's not even with the tires yet...
