They do... mainly in Sharjah...
most of the stolen 4 wheels are taken across the border to the neighbouring countires...

However, is it really such a good thing if you lost $3,000 in the process. Not sure pricing in your country but lowering, factory 18's, tint, stereo, etc. could be had for much less than $3,000 in the states
even here, it sould not cost that much... but the dumb *** has put some really cheap stuff... the wheels are used and the rubber on them is even worse! I just checked the dates on the tires yesterday... one was made in 2003, the other one in 2004, one in 2007 and the last one in 2008 and was the worse out of the whole lot! HAHAAH

I don't know how yalls insurance works but for MY insurance you can't just tell them "Oh I had $3,000 cash in there I'd like yall to give me back" LOL
its the same here... I could claim the cash only if they found the car along with the guy! and that is what has happened...

And in NY, you'd never see your car again, you will see it in pieces on craigslist, ebay and on about 10 other cars...
I must say I am lucky! the same things happen here... stolen cars are either exported abroad, broken down into pieces and sold separetely etc....

a colleague lost his brand new toyota Prado over an year ago and still didnt hear about! and the insurance has not paid him also as it was his fault... he had left the car on when he went in to a grocery shop and did not find his car when he was back!

I remember back in the days when people used to do this to honda civic's. If you have a rusty one, go steal a clean one, swap you're plates and vin, put you're mods on it. and if you get busted the original owner will have a nice modifed motor and whatever.
my case is somehow similar to the civics' cases that u mentioned...

but he got busted too early... HEHEHE
