Default Help with tranny drain bolt..

I changed my engine oil with Royal purple + KNN Filter. All went well right?

Moving on, i went ahead and jacked the car so i can get to the tranny oil pan. Upon removal of the drain bolt i notice that it loosened about half a turn and became really hard to turn again.. i kepted at it and removed the bolt only finding out that the orginal owner stripped the bolt mid way.. I continued and drained + Filled with T4...

question now is where can i find a replacement bolt? Do you just go to toyota and ask for a Tranny drain bolt? also are the crush washers for the engine oil pan and tranny oil pan the same?

I bought a crush washer from Lexus Parts long ago. I could not find it anywhere else, but I remember it cost a lot for just a washer.

Let us know what it costs nowadays.

you might want to run a thread tap through that to clean out the threads. So that when you put the new one in you won't cross thread it and ruin a new bolt.

The tranny bolt is all the same for toyota or lexus. The crush washer is different from the oil gasket because it is designed to crush down and seal while the engine oil gasket is designed to crush a little and sealing at the same time. Transmission crush washer is around $1.36/each the last I check. pretty expensive for a piece of aluminum.
