Does anyone know how I can remove the mirror cover from the assembly without damaging the actually mirror or any internal parts?

i believe in order to remove the mirror cover you have to take of the door panels to access the bolts from inside

I have the assembly separated from the car already but I'm trying to see if I can take off the cover from the rest of the assembly.

isnt the mirror held in place by a small ball joint ? can you just pull on it and get it off ...try angling the mirror so you can see behind it

Haha yeah, for my '00. Well my problem is my passenger side mirror was busted (internal plastic part was shattered) so I decided I would pick up the covers at the same time I replace the assembly. I found a used assembly but it's in a different color.

I'll try to take a pic of the insides of the covers for you when i get home from work sakataj.

LeXaNoMicS:

I looked today at my my mirror (the broken one) and i think the glass was adhered to a piece of plastic that is screwed in...with the glass in place I'm not sure how to take it out. Anyone got some ideas? Worst comes to worst I'm just gonna have to take it to a body shop.
