Default My Custom Optima Battery Hold Down + Templete

So when I replaced My stock battery with a Optima Yellow Top I realized It was much shorter then the stock battery and that the stock hold down can not secure it. I had two choices: 1) Use the included Optima "booster seat" or 2) Fab up a different battery hold down.

I measured out the are between the positive and negative terminal humps and the battery width. I transferred these measurements to card board and tested on a Red Top that I have hanging around to make sure it fit. Once I had made a small adjustment I had it created out of 3/4 inch Plexi. This compensates for the shorter battery and looks cool too.

So here it is - my invisible battery hold down.

And here is the template in case you want to make your own. I searched online for a template like this but was unable to find one. So I got my ruler and my Optima Battery and made one up. (NOT TO SCALE)

Ohhh Perty! I wonder if I'll have to fabricate one for the Kinetic Batteries I'm throwing in. Thanks for the Idea.

Looks great! Very similar to one I had done for mine a few years ago but I opted to keep the OEM bar running across the plexi.

I think I like yours better.

That will depend on interest and what it costs to become a vendor

Almost a twin setup! I searched for Battery hold Downs too and never came across yours. It sure would have helped me make up my mind a lot faster to do it.
