Talking Offset Question on non-mod fenders: +30MM Front +20MM Rear on OEM 18" 245/40/18

Hello,

I am creating a new thread with updated questions to my spacer issue.

I am using 3GS OEM 18" wheels +45MM offset w/ 245/40/18 tires.

With spacers, my new offset should be:

Front will be 18x8 +30MM w/ (45MM wheel minus 15MM spacer) 245/40/18 tire
Rear will be 18x8 +20MM w/ (45MM wheel minus 25MM spacer) 245/40/18 tire

I do not want to do fender mods but i fear problems with rubbing. I am lowered on tein stech springs.
Thank you agaiN!

front tire might be a little too fat depending on your drop. I would go with a 235 to ensure that you dont rub.

245/40/18 are the stock size tires on the 3GS wheels. I just picked up a set also. I wouldn't want to run a 235 unless you plan on lowering the car more.

I just bought the spacers. I decided not to use 25MM spacer for the rear, so i am going with 20 instead.

This will be my setup once installed:

Front will be 18x8 +30MM w/ (45MM wheel minus 15MM spacer) 245/40/18 tire
Rear will be 18x8 +25MM w/ (45MM wheel minus 20MM spacer) 245/40/18 tire

Sorry, I deleted my post because after re-reading what you were asking I did not think my response was what you were looking for.

Yes, with the spacer in the rear I am at +20 now. I had originally bought and tried a 20mm spacer which put it at +10 and I just did not like the look at all, plus it rubbed pretty bad. At +20 I am totally satisfied and with yours at +25 I think you'll feel the same.

Take some pictures when you get them.

Thumbs up 15MM Front and 20MM rear for 3GS wheels 245/40/18 tires

SO,

I received my ichiba spacers today. 15MM front and 20MM rear. Looks like a good conservative setup for my 3GS wheels.

This is the setup i installed:

Front is 18x8 +30MM w/ (45MM wheel minus 15MM spacer) 245/40/18 tire
Rear is 18x8 +25MM w/ (45MM wheel minus 20MM spacer) 245/40/18 tire

Clearance is good for the tires. 25MM in the rear might have posed a problem for the 3GS 18x8 wheel in terms of rubbing. Glad i went with 20MM in the rear.

No before pictures, but i will surely add after pictures once i find time to wash my car and usable daylight for the pictures.

Should be an easy fit.

For comparison's sake, the front fitment with a 15mm spacer:

18x8.0 +30 sits on fender the same as
18x8.5 +36
18x9.0 +42

Rear fitment with 20mm spacer:
18x8.0 +25 sits same on fender as
18x8.5 +31
18x9.0 +36
18x9.5 +42
18x10 +48

Really conservative still, especially on the rear.

The only variable will be the tire choice, an how that particular
245/40-18 fits on an 18x8. It will be a little wider than the wheel,
the sidewalls would be more flush on an 18x8.5 rim lip.

Going with a +25 in the rear should be fine?

I worry that the Nitto NT555 will rub in the front. These seem to be larger than other 245/40/18's on the market.

Nice car. I love the saddle interior.

Side profile pictures against the fender would nice for reference. It looks like you do have some more room in the rear for a +25mm spacer.

Any issues with rubbing against the fender when you turn the steering wheel at full lock?

No problems at all. Driving conditions are the same. No rubs, wheel shakes, whatsoever. handling is better..

I worry 25MM would be bringing it close when i have a full load... or possibly lowering the car more in the future. If you can confirm it, i will definitely consider pushing 25MM.

Anyway, i am satisfied.

I may consider running +25 spacers in the rear if I can get a good deal on spacers. Thanks for the info.
