Are we talking about wheels from a first gen IS or a second gen IS?

the front should be okay, maybe a 10mm if you really want to. You're going to need at least a 25mm spacer on the rear to flush them out. And as previously stated, a definite drop.

Nope. I had 20 front & 30 rear spacers with Tein springs and 255/40R18 front & 295/35R18 rear tires (9.5" & 10.5" rims). No rubbing or fender mods at all.

ok, i love the look of the 2gen is rims on the Gs...but i am completely clueless when it comes to rims...so what exactly are spacers? and why would you need diff sizes/what would the diff sizes do? I'm shooting more for performance than looks..so what should i do? (spacer wise, and i know i need to drop it lol)

OEM 2IS wheel offset

Front - +45MM
Rear - +50MM

So with you 20MM for the front and 50MM for the rear, your new offsets should be:

Front - +25MM
Rear - +20MM
