Default 6 Days, 1700 miles later... **Updated w/ pics - why are you still using 56k?**

Okee, so I went on a road trip from my apartment in MI on the 26th to my parents' place in CT. Then drove to western NY on the 29th for a wedding and just got back today.

I was really interested in my gas mileage so I recorded the miles, gallons used, price per gallon, octane and gas station.

The best I was able to get was on I-80 east in PA going 65 mph w/cruise, snow mode, no A/C (had the sunroof tilted to suck air from the vents). Here's the data:

Distance: 376.8 miles
Gallons purchased: 14.2 gal
26.5 mpg (yay, my personal best ) - I usually consistently get 24 or 25 mpg from MI to Chi-town so I was a little proud...and really bored on that stretch of I-80. Probably would've been better if it weren't for the traffic on I-95 N from NYC to CT.

Anyway, pictures of the aftermath of 1700 miles on the highway, clear skies and no car wash to come tomorrow...

Did you run into road construction on I-95? As in.. where three lanes become one?

22 mpg w/ 850cc injectors is awesome! haha, not too bad with a/c and luggage...hmm, i guess beefing up the engine won't do it too much harm on the highway.

It seems the V8 GS's do better on the highway...

I get 28+mpg pretty consistently at 70mph.

Holy crap, 28mpg?!

Anyway, I'm curious to know why you had your car set to Snow Mode, JspecDan.

i set my car to snow mode to limit the rate of acceleration of the car. it's kinda like a valet mode for the engine during regular weather.
