Wink Getting a new master key? Which option is better?

I bought a 2005 GS300 recently and received only 1 valet type key...
I've searched around and found 2 solutions that should work.
Sewell sounded more reputable than the second one... but I don't know.
Second one is cheaper by $24, but it involves 2 different companies(will probably take longer for me to get the key)
I think I can do the programming myself with instructions Sewell provides for free: http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/import/pdf/1.pdf
Could you guys tell me which one is better choice?

($135 w/ free cutting to VIN) + $10 shipping = $145

http://www.toy-lex.com/keycuttingorderform.pdf
($79.95 for uncut remote key) +$5(shipping it to the toy-lex/locksmith) + $36.35(Key cutting to VIN and shipped back) = about $121

I bought my car with 2 valet keys and one doesn't start the car. I don't have a master key. So all I have to do is buy this one and I'm good because when I went to the stealership they told me I need to buy a new computer and all this other garbage...

I ordered an extra master key from Sewell last night... use this promotion code: 909RK for a discount ( I think it's about 21% off). If that code doesn't work then Club Lexus offers 10% off on all orders from Sewell (It's a sponsor).. use code CL911M.

I researched other companies for getting a new master key, and found Sewell to be the best option. I've read that toy-lex is not too good on customer service, so it might take a while for your order to get through. Plus, Sewell is official lexus, so you know you won't get a key that won't work.

Thank you so much!
The code did take 28.35 off from 135 resulting only 106.65...
I'll be sending them my ownership information sometime tonight.

Sorry to bring bad news, but you will not be able to program the new keys with a valet key. Search reflash and you will find what you need to do inorder to make a new master key.

Is it not possible to program a new master key that has been cut to my VIN? I heard that it is possible to reprogram your master key if your car stop recognizing for some reaosn. I did hear about having the computer swapped or getting it reflashed, but I also heard that there is no need to go that route and spend near $1000 or so... I've been mentioned that I just need to order a new master key that is cut to my car's VIN #. Does anyone know is the truth? I need to cancel my order if I can't program the new master key.

You can get a key cut to your vin, but it will not start your car. You need a master key to be able to program any other keys.

I see, thank you for letting me know.
I guess going to a Lexus dealer is the only option I have then...
Will the master key(unprogrammed, but cut to VIN) open glove box and trunk though? Also, do you know if I'll be able to open the door with the remote on the unprogrammed master key?

The key will open all locks, but I don't know if the remote will work.
PM this member 4dr4play he just got a new set of master keys mayde after loosing all of his keys. The dealer is not the only option. The are locksmiths that can reflash you ecu too. Like I said, pm that member, so he can let you know what he did to get a new master key.

Actually it depends, the Lexus scan tool which programs keys has an option to program a valet as a master, in order to program other keys off of it.
