First time at track with 2jzgte t68 GS300
well it was a bad night for me, since my TSI built transmission had trouble shifting into second gear for some reason, never had trouble on the street but for some reason on the strip it did.
build:
95 supra twin turbo motor
custom made tubular exhaust manifold
garrett t68 turbo
spearco intercooler
hks ssqbv
custom 3 inch intake
custom 3 inch greddy exhaust (custom made for car)
custom 3.5 inch greddy down pipe (custome made for car)
aem ems tuned by r2b2 motors in duluth, ga
aem wideband uego
aem cdi ignition
world performance digital boost controller
tsi built supra auto transmission blueprinted and spec to 600 whp
2800 stall torque converter
kaaz limited slip differential
custom made driveshaft built to handle 600 whp
hks cam gears
tien adjustable suspension
245/35/20 front tires 275/35/20 rear tires
dyno on 93 octane at 17 psi 393 whp
drag passes dont on c16 poured into an empty tank. ( i acctually ran out of gas on the way to the track and poured it in)
first run at 17.5 psi transmission hit rev limiter when attempting to switch to second gear, i rolled out and rolled back in for a 12.94@112
second run at 16.5 psi, transmission searched but not as hard for second gear, and ran a 13.55@109
third run at 17.0 psi transmission looked for gear hit revlimiter then found the gear and ran a 13.21@110
last run at 18 psi transmission could not find second gear, then could not find any gear when under boost after first gear ran an impressive 17.07@70
weirdly enough i drove the car home and it drove fine when not under any boost, then after 30 minutes on the interstate i tried it under boost and it held perfectly fine....
im confused so i must investigate..... i have some videos of the runs, but i dont know how to convert .mts files into mpeg's from an hd cam corder.... so here is a pic of my best run
also included a pic of my z06 next to an s4 and next to my lexus kinda cool pic

It's always the transmission man. I just roasted the living shiz out of mine. Pulled apart the whole trans and the entire no. 3 clutch pack set was welded/fused together. Sets 1, 2, and 4 were completely burned to the point where there was no clutch material left. Pretty crazy stuff, but I'm getting mine rebuilt and having all the internals cryo treated, everything re-spec'd, and putting in new Raybestos clutch packs. I'm hoping it will hold around 700rwhp or so reliably once it's done.

Thats pretty awesome 12.9 at only 17psi and on 20 inch wheels.... Congrats. Were you boosting off the line? if sdo how much? I'm hoping to hit the track in a few months after installing my HKS twin turbos and HKS 264 cams set up. I'll be happy to hit 12's until i go standalone and build my tranny later on than 11's is the goal. These dam auto trannys. I would love to just go 6spd but god, I priced it out and its crazy money to go 6spd.

its actually hilarious, i dont boost at all when i drop the gas, tires dont spin, it just takes off around 30 feet, so i get left at the start, and i play catch up the rest of the way. but my stall is too high for the power the car makes so thats the problem there
i have videos, but i dont know how to convert a .mts file to an mpeg

Your on a 2800 stall? Thats not high enough for the turbo you have, is that what you meant to say? 2800 is near stock, you should be running at least a 3400. If you were running a 3400 plus you could leave the line already making quite a bit of boost and your 1/4 times would drop significantly.

Yea, it shouldnt be a 2800 as that's basically stock. However, if you bought it from Lextreme it may be a 2800 as I think that is their standard sized converter. Either way, are you brake boosting at the line? Holding down the brake while giving the car a good amount of throttle. By doing that it loads the motor and allowsyou to buildboost so you can launch that thing when the light turns. If you aren't doing that and just nailing the gas from idle when the light turns then your 60fts are going to be slow.

I was brake boosting, but honestly i didnt look to see how much boost it was getting, i was looking at the light, but i would say not much, i ran a 2.2 60 ft religiously

It def sounds like your running a stock stall, that's exactly what they do. If you had a higher stall you should be pulling 1.7-1.8 60fts easily, that should drop your et's down to the 12.2-12.4 range if not 11.99's on a good run. I hope someone didn't charge you for an upgraded stall and didn't install it!
