Smile EZ fix for broken actuators

Hey everyone, i know some of you are having problem with the front actuator. As you all know, the cost of a new actuator from dealer or even used one range from $100-$300 depending on where you got them. I had the same problem, my passenger and driver side doesnt lock automatically. You guys can spend $250 easily just for one side. However there is another cheaper route. You can purchase a 2001-2003 Toyota Corolla front actuator motor for about $50 each and swap out them out. Dont get the lexus actuator, it will eventually go out again. Its pretty much plug and play, the Corolla n lexus share the motor for the actuator. Unfortunately i dont have pictures, because my dad got it fixed. Hope this can save you guys some $$$$

This is great news! I'm surprised no one tried that sooner. Do you know if the rear actuators are the same?

Does this also fix the "door trigger" problem as well since it's built into the actuator. By door trigger problem I'm referring to the opening of the door but no light comes on.

From my understanding is 2GS year 98-02 have a different actuator then the 03-06. But i cant confirm this 100% because thats what i was told when i went to the junkyard. Both of my front doors doesnt lock, long story short i found a gs but it was an 98-01 model and they told me the actuator was not the same.

Yes, the actuator are the same. DOnt buy it from the dealer because they usally sell the whole assembly. There is nothing wrong with actuator it just the motor that powered its. I will get more detail info on how to do this and what exactly needs to be done. In the mean while dont buy from the dealer and waste your money.
