Default You guys have no idea......

....how insane I'm going with all these toys sitting in storage!!
"Why in the hell are they not on your car???!!!" you quite rightly ask....well let me tell ya the story....

I'm fairly recently married and I'd like to stay that way. Let's just say that when I bought the car in January '07 I promised my wife I wouldn't touch the car until I refi'd my house in May '08. I really meant to keep that promise but then I discovered CL and I was screwed! I truly would've held out but I kept coming across great deals and couldn't pass them up......

First I picked up a set of Tein CS v.1 + EDFC + rear strut bar in April '07:

Then I waited til March '08 to p/u my Tanabe Medallion Exhaust (yeah I know it's a durty pic):

And in May '08 I picked up a new set of shoes locally:

So.....for now the only mod she knows about are my cleared tail lights. In the meantime I've got all this stuff sitting in my storage unit but due to the challenge of getting a good rate on a refi (it's a LONG story) I can't bear to let my wife down and tell her I've been hiding this stuff from her. We're right around the corner (w/in a month) from finalizing the refi but by that time the summer will be over and I won't wanna put the wheels on during the winter.

The simple solution is to grow a set and quit being such a wussy, but I know it'll really disappoint & **** her off. Okay, end of rant!Argh.......

....and the reason I'm hiding the stuff (ehem...the bride!):

I give you PROPS for fighting the temptation that long. BUT keep your wife happy! I got married August 07. My wife surprisingly supports me when it comes to wanting to MOD my car. Infact i delay and she MAKES me mod it so that im happy!

Fighting the temptation? I think the temptation kicked your butt....based on the fact that you bought a bunch of mods, prior to refi.....LOL!!

There should be no secrets when starting a marriage. You should be honest with the wifey. I have with my wife since Day 1...and I have no problems with modding or buying whatever I want....I dont even need to ask....I just tell her look for a box coming .....of course thats because she wants a new LV or Dior bag every other year. Good trade? I think so.

As for the refi...blame it on the global market. You cant control that!!! One day its low...the other day it jumps a 1/4 pt. When I refi'd, I didnt want to be greedy and get the lowest rate to brag to friends about...I just locked in at what was comfortable to me....and things fell into place.

Modding is a DISEASE!!! And I blame CL for my disease. Everytime I tell myself.....Enough already!!!.....I usually justify another purchase by selling an existing part.

As for yourself....good luck with the marriage....and hopefully soon....installing those mods.

Pete

LOL, I'm in a similar boat. Getting married next May and I promised the fiance I wouldn't drop any more money into the GS... I swore I'd wait to get coilovers until after the wedding!

Then I saw some Espelir springs in the classifieds and thought, "I can lower the car temporarily for $150 compared to $1400!!! Won't she be so proud of me!!!"

Not so much

Good luck w/ the secret mod addiction
