Leaving the GS at airport for 10 days: battery question
Hi all,
I need to leave my GS400 at the airport for a 10 day trip. Is there a way I can safely preserve battery power (disconnect one of the terminals?)
I ask b/c I left the car for a 5 day period and the battery drained and needed a jumpstart. Since then, I hooked up the GS to a battery tender and juiced it back up.
Suggestions? Thanks in advance

Yes, disconnect it if the car is draining your battery but you should figure out why it's doing that in the first place.
I left my GS untouched for 2 months and it started right back up when needed.

Get a new battery and make sure you dont leave your headlights on auto and you should be okay and anyway no battery means no protection aka alarm not a wise choice at the airport for 10 days.

Good advice all. Not sure what the battery issue is. I make frequent business trips of 3-5 days and the battery has not been an issue before.
The only thing I can think of is that I recently bought and use a battery tender (plug-in slow charge device) on both the Lexus and the other car. Otherwise the routine is the same.
I need to check the battery out.

How old is the battery and is it a Lexus battery? If it's one of the Lexus dealer batteries, my opinion is they're junk. My car's service history showed battery replacement through the dealer every two years. I asked the previous owner about it and he said the battery would be absolutely dead in two years. He didn't drive the car a lot, which probably contributed some because it wasn't getting charged via frequent usage. I went with a Die Hard Gold. The 84 month batteries usually last 5 years, but then you get a credit toward a new one when the old one craps out. Not too bad, really.
