Default *PIC* Clearance DF210 235/35/20

Hey guys,

I'm getting ready to order a Tanabe DF210 kit and I have some concerns about clearance...

The stock front suspension setup has an arm coming out towards the inside of the front tire which has a bolt on the end of it shown in the below image...

Between this bolt and the top inner sidewall of the tire there is only about a one fingers worth of a gap.

If I lower my car 1.8" in the front I'm afraid the head of this bolt will hit my tire.

My offset on my 20x8.5" wheels is 40mm. Should I buy some spacers to pop the wheel out more so the bolt doesnt hit the tire?

What should I do?

Will be ok to drop it how it is?

I've never read of anyone else having this issue.

Here is a pic of my GS so you can see the 40mm offset I currently have and give me an opinion of what type of spacers to get if you think this will fix my clearance issue...

Hey i have the same but with nf210 and i dont rub even with ppl in the car
If I'm not mistaken, the bolt moves as the tire moves towards it. So therefore they dont touch and now what do i know about suspension i might be wrong but my drop is soo low and i have 245/35/20 and i have no rubbing problems

ps I looked at the threads about rubbing with that bolt and no one has mentioned it touching. Like i said i might be wrong
good luck

people are way lower than those springs and im sure no one has had a problem with that..if anything..it is the control arm itself hitting the top of ur inner fender that u should worry about

that's where upper arm with spindle bolts up. they move with wheels since wheels mounts on the spindle. so even if you drop it with df210's you shouldn't have any problems.

No problems at all, suspension component moves with your wheel, you can drop it 4 inches and still have the a fingers gap between your tire and that bolt.

Awesome, thanks for the quick response.

On to the next question now....

How big of a spacer would you put on the rear wheel, right now the rear is kinda sunk in like the factory setup was.

Keep in mind my rears are 8.5" wide wheels with a 245/35 tire on it and it's a 40mm offset.

I was thinking a 10mm spacer would look good in the rear. The front offset looks fine so I wont change it, just the rear needs to be popped out more.

What would you advise?

A 25mm spacer/adapter would be about right.
Fronts could go out, too.

I have the DF210's with stock struts and 20's. No issues here.

1-you wont have any probs. my fronts are 8.5s w/same offset, except 19s.
2-spacers all depends on the stance you're looking for and direction you'd like to take your car.

for me, as in my sig, yes i'm running very conservative offsets and many friends have urged me to get spacers. my wheels are sunken in, but i'm also able to achieve a slight tucked stance w/out any fender work or fear of rubbing...just my 2 cents. most importantly, have fun!

I'm with socalsc4, 25mm will push it out perfect. measure the gap from your wheel to the fender (out side of wheel to inside of fender)...should be more than 1 inch. 25.4mm is 1 inch, so you'll be an inch closer to the fender.

Should I wait to see what spacers I should get after I drop it?

That would probably be the smart thing to do right?

It doesn't matter. It's gonna be sunken in more when you drop it, so might as well get spacers anyways.
