Default 0-60 & 1/4 mile times

I bought Beltronics GX2 accelerometer. Here's five runs on a bone stock '98 GS400, 17" 5 star OEM's 186k Km. VSC on, Trans in normal mode.

1. 0-60: 6.62sec 1/4mile: 16.40/86.0mph
2. 0-60: 6.55sec 1/4mile: 14.97/95.2mph
3. 0-60: 6.55sec 1/4mile: 14.95/94.5mph
4. 0-60: 6.02sec 1/4mile: 14.52/95.2mph
5. 0-60: 5.97sec 1/4mile: 14.45/96.3mph

The last run was on a very slight downgrade of about 150yds no tire chirp.

The first run was with a fair amount of wheel spin.

The fourth run was pretty much flat road, and no wheel spin on startup.

It was a cool evening (about 12deg C).

I bought it used but I think they are worth about $100 to $300 depending on the features you want. The are pretty simple. Just attach to the windshield with the suction cup mounting bracket and plug it into the lighter socket.

That's all there is to it. Plug it in and you have an instant drag strip. Mine has also got a graphic g-meter display so I can see how many g's I am pulling around corners. Nice toy but I'm sure like most toys you get jaded after a while. It would be really good if we had many different options for hopping up the 400's but don't really have anything within the average budget. I suspect the gte guys would use it much more expecially if you play with boost, intercooler sizing, turbo sizing etc.

No brake torque here, just mash and go. It's hard to say how accurate it is without actually taking to a drag strip and comparing results. Nevertheless, the numbers I got seem pretty consistent with documented figures for a GS4.

i hit up infineon raceway today (wednesday night drags in nor cal)

98 gs4 bone stock except k&n filter.. didn't have a chance to lower the psi on my tires (they were at 40).. 91 octane.. tank was still on full (my dumb *** filled up yesterday)

first run - brake launch.. vsc off.. manual shift from 1 to 3.. way too much wheel spin on 1st gear.. 16.87 at 90.03 mph! (i wanted to go home after this)

second run (bracket run - dialed at 14.8) - no brake launch.. vsc on.. no shifting (on drive).. 14.85 @ 93.29 mph (win)

third run (bracket run - dialed at 14.6) - no brake launch.. vsc on.. no shifting (on drive).. 14.86 @ 94.18 mph (win)

fourth run (bracket run - dialed at 14.8) - no brake launch.. vsc on.. manual shift from 1st to 3rd.. 15.09 @ 92.42 mph (lose)

temp was 75 on my first run.. went down to 61 degrees on my last run.. relative humidity 0.. absolute barometer 29.8

was hoping to get mid to low 14's.. not bad though for a 10 yr. old car w/ 166k miles

yeah not bad for an old car i guess.. i thought i was hot **** (somewhat) until i had my car dynoed for the first time last week... with big heavy rims on which I am super super curious now what the numbers would have been if i had lighter wheels or even stock wheels back on but it dynoed at 250 hp and i forget the exact torque cuz the shop forgot to email the results like they were going to, but the torque was like 270-275 i think..

yeah i thought my car would have been faster or more powerful too...
