My car smells, very strong smell in fact, after i turn my AC off. and it goes away after 5 mins or so. why is that?

my guess is mildew/mold or something yucky in the vents. could be something else.
if mildew, search in here, there's a few ways to rid of that in the vents.

my mechanic sprayed something into my vents (by the windshield wipers), ran my heater for about 15 min on full hot, and it got most of my funky smell out + i got the blitz AC filter (if that does anything at all )

hopefully others will chime in to also help ya out.

could it be my A/C evaporator leaking? how do i check it?

but it doesnt smell when i use just fan tho. so i dont think it's the vent.

yea my ls430 has a urine smell sometimes they said its because i never turn off my automatic climate control so every once inawhile i turn it off and run it on full blast just vent with the windows open. but i heard they have that stuff to spray like 4ntvings said its supposed to take care of the problem
