Angry tune-up prices

My gs is in the possesion of my mother while im gone on deployment. She took to a mechanic yesterday to get a quote, the damn mechanic said it would cost $600 for a tune-up. I wanted to hit you guys up to find out an approx price so i'm not getting ripped off.

depends what it is bro, if its just a simple spark plug change and oil. its not worth it. list the things that he said he would do during this tune up then we will know.

All he said was spark plugs, a/c check, and fluid changes.

Definitly not worth it. But then again maybe thats because my mechanic hooks me up.

i found this web page which details all the maintenance by model/ year/ mileage and has prices... i am sure this is somewhat common knowledge but during my last 90k this list saved me about 500$ by getting the same things checked and serviced at a normal shop over having a lexus mechanic do it.

good luck with your deployment!!

Default Very Helpful:

Thanks sojah, that link is very useful! Now I can do the easier stuff on my own for the 90k maintenance and bring it to my local mechanic for the rest - plus my brother-in-law's brother works for STS. Maybe he can hook it up for me!!
