Default help with non working trunk and gas cap

Does anybody know how to fix a non-opening trunk and non popping gas tank door? When I use the remote or even the trunk button inside the car, it does not pop open. I had to use my key and open it manually. Same thing for the gas compartment door, but at least it unlocks with that one I just have to peel it open. ANyone know? Thanks!!!

Make sure that the button with the keyhole isn't pressed in, if it is use your key to pop it back out. The button is located in the same area as the buttons to open the trunk and gas cap.

Does the fuel door open from the handle in the trunck? If so then I'd say its your fuses.

There's a little spring action/clamp that goes inside the gas cap door. It sounds like yours either came off or the spring action broke so it's not opening properly. I had the same problem. You can order the part from Carson, it's really cheap. It's also really easy to install. Just ask them for the gas door spring/clamp and they'll know. Not sure about your trunk issue though. Good luck...

Make sure that the lock inside the car, right above the buttons to open the gas tank and trunk isn't LOCKED. Take your key, put it in, and turn it to lock, unlock. Or unlock to lock, then to unlock. Try that

Even if the push-button lock is activated, the keyfob trunk release should still work.

Did you try pulling the lever inside the trunk to open it? I think there's a secondary pull cord in there, not sure where.

So the gas door does unlock, but does not swing open, correct? If so, look over what GS Wanted mentioned in post #9.

How did you correct the trunk problem anyways?

About the trunk, it was just the key lock being turned as many had told me to do, thanks all of you. But it didn't work even with the remote before while it was locked...is that normal? The gas door guess I'll just leave it and wait until next time I visit my mechanic and have him take a quick look at it.

While at it, does anyone know what kind of screw can be use as a replacement on the bumper? My front is missing a screw and it looks like its popping away from the headlight...

The more I look at this car the more it seems like something is going wrong with it......
