After reading this I immediately went out to the garage and
clean the MAF sensor and throttle body with CRC products made specifically for each item.

I noticed a huge difference in acceleration and my idle is not as rough no more.

Great info guys, I wish i did this sooner with these crazy gas prices.

I was cleaning my MAF today (so easy) and was wondering what this part on the side of the assembly is. One side is very dirty (side facing air flow) and the other side is relatively clean. What is this part? Can I clean it with the MAF cleaner?

i noticed that too when i did mine, were you able to get the maf disconnected more than that MP or did you just spray in the bottom to hit the wires?

I sprayed all over the place and nothing happened to mine. Just make sure all the liquid evaporates before installing it back in.

I was sort of confused because I am guessing this write up was done on a 400 or 430 and I have a 300 which is evidently different. There is no "bullet" on the 300, nor any mesh cover. It I simply the piece I posted above.

You have to do it in good light but on the 300 you can see the little wires if you look down the holes on either side of the plastic assembly. I sprayed up into the hole where I saw the wires. I wanted to clean the part I referenced above as it was quite dirty, but figured I would ask first. The part looks like a used match and is along side the small black tube.
