Today i was checking my spark plugs. and when i took one of them out. i see motor oil around the plugs. not the the tip, but around it. is that normal? should i change my valve cover seal? any suggestion?
I asked my friend at my dealership today and he said that the tubes that the spark plugs fit into have seals at the bottom of the tubes and have been known to leak. I know that the 3uz does not have these seals, but i'm quite certain the 2jz does, not sure, just thought i would to my best to ask around for you.

ooo same thing happened to me the other week, on my 1st gen gs though...the first spark plug on the front of the boot has oil around the top, but not the tip. i asked 2 technicians and got 2 answers. i wrote them down somewhere ill get back to you tomorow on that.
but they both said it could short the spark and cause a misfire.
Valve cover gaskets..change em, its not bad, but make sure you get all the oil out before you pull the plugs, if not, then it will be bad.
If this is a 300, if a 400, I dont know.
