Default Buying my first Lexus, need some advise.

I graduated college last May, got a nice job, and now want to get into a nice Lexus. I've always driven FWD Sport Compacts so the luxery will be a nice change. Anyway, I've been looking at GS's on Ebay and they seem reasonably priced, but I've never used Ebay for car buying. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Here is the car I'm looking at:

Thanks,
Marcus

There's nothing wrong with ebay if you buy from a reputable seller, BUT i would never use it to buy a car. Before you buy a car you should test drive it and have it inspected by a mechanic. Use www.cars.com or even www.autotrader.com to find some for sale near you, then go to the dealership or the person selling the car to check it out. Buying a car without checking it out first is the biggest mistake anyone can ever make ... You should try visiting the Lexus dealers near you to start ... Don't rush into this, take your time. Good Luck

Well, the good thing about this one is that its in my area so I can check it out first. I'll probably keep looking around for more potential cars.

I have some friends that have bought ebay cars, and have had decent experiences, but imo its always good to get a more broad look that just the people I know. Thanks!

Well I'm not saying ebay is bad, cuz it's not. I'm just saying you need to be more careful with stuff like that ... Like i said before take your time, it took me 4 months to find the car I wanted and now I'm happier than ever. At first I found an '01 GS430 with 88,xxx miles and some interior defects and wanted it real bad but decided to wait and see what I find, well low and behold 2 months later I stumble across my '01 GS430 with 37,500 miles and pristine interior with a few minor scratches on the outside for almost the same price !! I am now happier than ever, hope you get to enjoy your future Lexus as much as I'm ejoying mine now

Playa is right. Take your time and read the forums inside and out. That way you can look for the common isues like high speed vibration, dash lights, rough idle before you buy anything online or in person. I love ebay but a car would be a hard thing for me to buy on there.

No nav, (only a problem if you really wanted it and are not switching out for an aftermarket)

No HID, trust me you will regret not having this.

But hooweee that black on black....

Yeah, I would probably regret not having the HID's.

That black on black looks awesome doesn't it!
