Default Guage cluster diming?

I noticed last night that my guage cluster wasnt as bright as normal. It was bright at first, but after a while it got dimmer. first thing i did was check dimmer switch and it is working properly and is turned all the way up. Could that be a sign that its going out or what?

Time to get a new battery. My clusters were dimming too. In fact, soon after my battery died and had to be recharged.

Went with the SEARS Diehard Platinum. $180 plus installation and tax. Came out to around $215. It's rated by Consumer Reports as the best battery money can buy. Was thinking about getting a Kinetic but the Diehard is a much better battery.

It dims at night so that it's easier for your eyes to adjust between the gauges and the roadway ...

This also happens when you drive in a tunnel or under an overpass. WEatch your guages within about 2 to 3 seconds of entering will automatically dim, eventhough you headlights will have a longer delay... hope that helps.. The sensors are actually at the top left and right corners of the dash board, still a towel over both and you will trick your car to think it's 9pm.

I have same thing going on. The gauges are very dim....dark grey...and dont' appear normal. How does one know it's the battery and not the bulbs?

I wish we could disable the dimming all together!!! I love it when it is fully bright (sometimes I get lucky at night and it does not adjust) I love it like that!! -Joe
