My weekend adventure...changin rear tires for my GS....
Got Toyo T1-S, Size 285/35/18, $238/piece
Currently run 265/40/18 Pirelli Asy-Zero
8AM Saturday
Work up, went to Firestone (Austin, on Mopac, new shop)
Tech guy: OK we can do it, just need to charge you extra on your custom weight when balance the rims.
Me: No problem.
30min later
Tech guy: we can't do it, your rim is weird, we could not saparate the tire out and BTW, we scratch your rim alittle bit.
Me: WTF
====
left the shop, bring to NTB (Austin,183), my regular shop.
Tech guy: Yeah we can do it, since it's a lexus, we will charge you more for balance
Me: ok
Tech guy: his name Dan, the only one there that does alignment with suspension upgrade car told me, he will take car of it. and He did.
Another tech guy did the tires and balance, everything went well. No problem open the tires or anything.
Me: happy man, pay, thank you and leave.
On the way home, I hit a bum, I heard some scrathing noise when i hit that bum.
Got home. Realize the the tires are too big, it is hitting the fender.
Me: This is sux. I can't drive the car. What to do.
For the next 3 hours, with 2 big pliers and a metal bar, I rolled the fender. Wow, no problem so far, I've been driving the car around the town to test it. Everything seem OK now. I may need to cut my fender if it still hit the tires.
The moral of the story, I don't bring your car to shop that you don't know especially Firestone

Tire is at

call them to ask for the price, don't use the prices post on their site.
and yes, 285 is alittle too big, but they look GOOOD
I rolled the fender already, everything seems to work OK now.
The tires fit now.
Toyo T1-S is great, very quiet and sticky to the road. suppose to last long too.

Sure I paid more for my 275/35/18 Toyo T1-S's - $294 a tire (vs. $263 you paid), but the problem with buying tires from one place and having them mounted/balanced at another is the second place is pissed because they're not getting the tire profit. AND if there's any problem with the tire, good luck having the tire mounting place help you.
