Default Double din JDM kit?

Hey guys, I tried calling Carsons and Lextacy. Both said they can't get it. Does anyone know what outlet I need to go through to buy one? Thank you

Nigel is a good place to get them.

Np. You should look at the JDM visors as well. Reasonable price and great looking on 2GS.

Hmmm, the one you buy is just the faceplate, you also need the bracket. Use this link to order from carson: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=9816

They should have the whole kit in stock, good luck

Carson couldn't get it? I was hoping to order from there since they show the whole kit (faceplate with brackets)... I hope the link hario posted works as that is what I was about to order...

The guy at Carsons said they don't sell it but he knew where people were getting them. He took my email address and never sent me the link. That was two months ago.

I'm hopeful the Nigel link is the whole kit. It describes it as such, but another part only shows the faceplate. I suppose if all else, I return that one and buy the full kit. Or maybe my local dealer can locate the brackets. I found the part numbers in another old thread. <br >

Ahh I think they are right. It looks like just the faceplate on Nigel's website. Sorry.

Just ordered the faceplate and bracket from Carson, let's see what happens. No indication at the time of order that it was out of stock.

*update*

The Nigel kit is faceplate only, but he did offer to order in the brackets for $48, bringing the total to over $100. Seeing the Carson kit for 60 total is kind of a jab, but oh well. I decided to run the bracket part numbers through my buddy that works here at Lexus of Lincoln. What we found is the numbers are superceded and the cost has gone up considerably to $48 for the pair. So it seems Nigel is selling them at Lexus cost which is nice, just unfortunately quite high. I had my guy order in the brackets a bit ago. He said they're somewhere stateside and will be here tomorrow. I'll attach the screenshot of the part numbers.

That looks like OEM brackets... can't you just reuse the brackets from the current OEM headunit in your car then?

I've been questioning that. I'd love to know if that's possible. I'm still not certain if there is a difference between factory, these listed ones, or the carsons jdm units. Anyone know for sure?

Aero,
Those are OEM brackets, and I think that's why Nigel sells the faceplate only. I was hoping someone in the forum would have responded that has the JDM kit as I see it posted quite often. Check this link from Lexus South Atlanta and you will see the part numbers are OEM.

*edit*

I found an old thread that two people confirm the OEM brackets work with the JDM faceplate.

I would search radio postings, pm the user, and asked them since no one has really responded to your posts. Maybe confirm ASAP so you can cancel the brackets if need be.

You are going to have to do searches anyways to learn how to install the radio since I hear the install of a double din unit is quite unique on 2GS.
