I know a place that can get you the aluminum trim kit but it won't cover the original pieces that were already wood (ie. the doors and the place by the shifter)

I was thinking of taking off the original ones and put on the new aluminum ones , not just painting them.. painting them would look weird.

u know how much that would cost approximately?

The painted one looks just as good as the real one.

like Wei said, painting them looks real.

Why would you want real aluminum anyways. You'll either get 1)frostbite in cold days 2) burned in hot days 3) electricuted when you're not careful

Real aluminum you get uneven surface textures. Some says that's more realistic but I think that'll ruin the car's clean textures. Painting it is much easier, smoother, and not to mention alot cheaper than having to cut metal and bending it and all that stuff.

guai,

I've had my pieces painted silver by a bpdy shop to the exact color of the outside of my car. I've gotten countless compliments, and I show my car at shows all the time and people always ask me about it! I'd say go with the paint! I've tried to attach pictures, but if they don't show just email me and i'll send you some.

Peace!

I painted mines also. I got a bodyshop to paint mine Millenium Silver and the color match was identical. I had the 4 door panels, shift ****, and the center piece for $200. You have to take everything out yourself so it could be cheaper. Looks very nice, sporty and luxury at the same time.

This look really cool.Could you guys post more pics if possible.Do you have to take the pieces out?Do they use the same paint as the exterior of the car?Do you think any reputable body shop is capable of doing this?
