Default question? need some help!!

Hi Guys,
After installing RMM LSD on my car, my VSC warning light don't come up anymore when I step hard on gas(my VSC was ON). Is that normal?
Before installing LSD, the VSC warning light came up when I step on gas hard. I don't know is my VSC not working or this just because of LSD?

thanks,

My car did the same thing which I attributed to the LSD doing it's job.

And I second Michael. VSC activates when (any) wheel loses traction. Your LSD is there to transfer some of your torque to the rear wheel with MORE traction, therefore you spin your tires less frequently, esp in the dry. You can probably still activate it in the wet, though.

Default VSC/LSD

It seems to me that if the TRAC function of VSC does activate, brakes the wheelspin, then it would completely eliminate the method by which LSD is itself activated.

No wheelspin = no LSD functionality.

And pardon me, but am I missing something here?

Why would anyone go to the trouble and expense of installing an LSD on a car that already has TRAC?

LSD = LIMITED slip.

TRAC = NO slip.

LSD = Mechanically implemented, "windup" clutch (slow).

TRAC = Electro-mechanically implemented, faster acting.

But Willard, TRAC/VSC cut power from the engine (retarding ignition timing) as a first step towards curbing rear wheel spin. Power recovery does not occur instantly (feels for all the world like you missed 1st gear and let the clutch out in 3rd from a dead stop.....major bog). The LSD obviously is quicker than the electronics. This makes for more scintillating acceleration since, VSC on or off, less is lost to either tire smoke or underhood bytework.

Default 92 vs 00

My 92 LS will apply brakes very quickly aand then dethrottle the engine. I found that if I am VERY quick at getting off the throttle then the ECU wouldn't dethrottle. Getting older, not so quick anymore.

I have had the impression with my 2000 GS300 that the dethrottle is now significamtly delayed and that I seem to have lots of time to react and modulate the throttle myself without the ECU intervening.

But then I'm not one for WOT burnouts and maybe that's what the LSd is for.
