gear selector clicking noise

Just recently I noticed a clicking noise that appears to be coming from my gear selector. I've only noticed it when I'm in drive (automatic shift) and it's not constant - come and goes. I did just recently start using my heated seats button but it was off when I heard the noise. I'm not sure if one has anything to do with the other. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
