VSC (traction control) seems to have become more sensitive- WHY?
Like the title says. MY VSC seems to have become more sensitive lately. Sometimes if I'm on the gas in first gear while slightly turned it kicks in and the brake pedal depresses and the car falls on its face. Very annoying. I find myself turning it off more often now. I know it has always been very intrusive when it does kick in, but it just seems to be touchier. I don't know if its because the car is lowered and the stance is not as high in the front as stock or what.
What would make it more sensitive? Anyone else notice this?

Exact same problem here C. It's totally annoying. I first noticed it after the 90k service. I thought it might be due to the fact that the car was a little more powerful than before, and I still think that. Assuming you haven't done anything to the car, I'm thinking it has something to do with your tires. What psi are you running? Has it changed since the weather has turned colder? My wife's TPM sensors went off the other day, and it was because all 4 tires went from 32 to 28 with the drop in temperatures around here. I know you've had those 16s on for a while now. What does the tread look like?

Have you tried two simple and yet possible solutions: 1. turn on the VSC and leave it on for a few starts and stops. Might be something that can be reprogrammed since you have been running without it on durring this annoying time period in your cars life. 2. Try not to punch it, as much, when you are going through a turn.
I have an 1.5" drop on front and rear and do not have that problem, so it is not the suspension. Tires are 25K old and they are not a problem. 60K was just done and I do feel that the car is running much better, but not a problem.
Let us know what you come up with so that when we do have this problem we will know how to deal with it.

I'd guess tires with less grip due to less tread or cold pavement/cold tires. Also check your tire inflation.

thanks for the responses guys. a few things mentioned made sense. I just checked the tires and the rears, specifically the passenger side were getting a little worn. I rotated them for the first time since I've had these tires/wheels(16s) back on. it's been a while. I also did add air recently to 35psi cold because I took the car on a trip and wanted them a little firmer for gas mileage.
I'll see if it seems any better with more tread back there again.
