Default cd tray stuck in changer

Has anyone ever had a single cd tray get stuck in the changer? I have no idea how this happened. Yes, I put the cd's in the individual trays label side facing down as you're supposed to...but now one of the trays won't retract into the magazine when I eject it. Damnit!! So now I'm stuck with a rotation of only 5 cd's instead of 6.

To make things worse the stuck cd/cd tray won't even play, it just gets skipped over when the previous cd ends. For example, I can go through cd's 1, 2, 3, it will skip #4, and go straight to 5, and 6. I don't want to stick anything into the changer to try to pop the tray out, but I have no idea what else I can attempt to fix this issue. Has anyone ever had this problem? And yes, I searched...to no avail

This is an '02 GS3 by the way.

I've seen the cartridge get stuck and have to be pulled out, but never a single tray. You are lucky though. Most times the whole thing will stop working and the head unit will display a Err 99 on you.

Geez lafrickin'-weez...man what a pain that would be, I really don't think I want to do that right now.

Yes, very much so. My musical rotational capacity has been diminished by 16.6%!!! And one of my door actuators went out a few days ago...

Sounds like you are on the declining side of a trouble free experience. Trade it in and purchase a new one. HA HA. Run by the dealership and see if a tech will fix the problem, on the side, for a couple of bucks. At best he will be able to tell you if it is unable to be fixed. At which point you should read the second line of this post.

Just a wild stab at it. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect. Try it with and without the magazine in it. When I do this with my Acura it spits out the CD.

Anything's worth a shot at this point

Sucks because other than that the car is SUPER inside and out.

It's not soooo bad. Just find a new one if you can and the install is easy.. I bought a new one on CL for 140.00. Dealer charges 130 to install if you can't.
