Need advice on paint..
So I'm painting my 1998 lexus gs300 the same factory cinnabor red.. I been thinking about adding a bit of pearl to the paintjob. What do you guys think? Also does anyone have a pic of a lexus gs300 with a grille painted the same color as the car but with a silver lexus emblem? I been thinking of doing that instead of getting an all chrome grille.

Regarding your paint, you should get a sample and take a look. A little bit of pearl really makes the color pop, but too much makes it look tacky. The grille painted the same color as the car is definitely nice, makes the lines look cleaner (imo). Or keep the OEM grill and go with an aftermarket one.

The way I see it, it's cool if somebody wants to switch everything over to Toyota emblems and do the JDM thing, but if you're going to do it you gotta go all the way; I don't think it looks right to have a mix of Lexus and Toyota badges.

My 3000GT is a rare color called Pearl Martinique Yellow which is a three stage paint process. Due to the complexity, I cannot touch the car up because there is no way to match the pearl and Mitsu does not make it any longer. My only option would be to paint the entire car. If you added pearl to the paint, you no longer have a specific paint code to go by if you need touch up or get into an accident. I would either leave it or get a specific paint so you could get more down the line if you needed it.
