Cylinder Misfire
A couple days after I changed the spark plugs the check engine light went on and I pulled codes P0300 and P0301, cylinder number 1 misfire. Car now idles real rough and the acceleration is terrible.
Since I've pulled the codes, I've erased the codes, changed the spark plug to what I think is number one (the closest plug to the firewall with the coil pack on top) and inspected the ohm reading of what I think is coil pack number one (which falls within the factory specs).
But the problem persists. Do I have the correct cylinder number? What else could be causing the problem?

It could be one of several things. First of all change Plug #1 which is the one closest to the front of the car. While you're doing that make sure no water or oil has accumulated in the sparkplug holes. If there is, clean it out thoroughly and make sure all the other plug holes are clean as well. After this, reset the engine computer by pulling the negative battery terminal off for 15min then reconnect it. If the problem still persists, then you may have a faulty coil pack. Or it may be something as simple as the wires leading to the coil pack are frayed or damaged. Try a few of the things I've suggested to see if it cures the problem.

Thanks for the replies.
So it looks like I had the wrong cylinder. I checked out the correct cylinder number one and the plug was sitting in coolant that spilled when I moved the throttle body out of the way to change out the plugs. I dried it out and cleared the codes and this solved the problem.
