Default Hello from Australia!!!

Hi All,

Will here from Down Under. I currently own a 1995 Toyota Soarer (Lexus SC) and have to change to a 4-door big boot car. The best option I can see for myself now is the GS300. There is some information that I do need though, as I have come up short even after searching the web for the last few days.

I am looking to see what the differences are in the rear parcel shelf of the 1998 and 2000 GS300. I believe additional child seat anchors were installed on the 2000 but not sure what the 1998 had?

Has anyone got a picture of a stock 1998 GS300 rear parcel shelf and a picture of a stock 2000 GS300 rear parcel shelf.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome there all.

GS Fonzy - the GS300 (second series) is sold domestically down under. The first series, JZS147, never was. However these have now got import approval so they are coming in strong and hard and I have seen a few on the road now. The JZS160 (the one I'm buying - but still searching for the information about the parcel shelf) was sold here as of 1998.

This doesn't help your search but I can tell you my '01 model has the anchors.

I believe the only change in the anchors was the 2000 GS model. Previous version of the JZS160 (i.e. Late 1997, 1998 & 1999) had 1 anchor I think and a revision was made to the 2000 model which carried through until the end of the production run.

Gewlex are you able to post any pictures of your rear parcel shelf at all? Would be really handy and appreciated.

Anyone out there have a 98, 99 GS300 (JZS160) that can take the same picture of the rear parcel shelf?

Any help would be appreciated.

In europe the ISO-fix system (child seat anchors) was first implemented on the 2001 model. Ive got a '99 model, so mine hasnt got it obviously.

Hi all,

In case you aren't aware of what it is that I am after (well a picture of it anyway), here is a picture of the rear parcel shelf of my Soarer. I basically need the same type of picture for a 98/99 GS300 and a 2000+ GS300. As you can see on my SC I have 2 bolts on either side just above the speakers where I would use as child seat braces.

Welcome to CL draco

I have a 99 and there no anchors.
Hope that answered your question.

I was looking at it over the weekend b/c I was curious since the GX and the minivan (of course) has them.
