Default Need Tire Recommendation for 2003 GS300

Hello all. It's time to replace the original Goodyear Eagle GT+4s (225/55R16) and I'm seeking the advice of the forum faithful. IMO, the GT+4s are VERY average tires and while I'm not performance oriented, I do want a quieter, smoother riding tire that performs well in all seasons (weather is not an issue here). The local Lexus dealer recommends Michelin MXV4s. Does anyone out there have any feedback on this tire or have any recommendations for an average driver who enjoys the quality of a Lexus, but isn't into speed?

You can't really go wrong with Michelin. I just bought Michelin Pilot Sports A/S. It's pretty quite.

Hi,

my recommendation is the Pirelli P7 - it´s a good price/quality mix.

IMO the Michelin MXV4 would not be a good match for the GS. I also have Eagle GT+4s on my winter 16s, and I will be replacing them come October. I've done quite a bit of research on this, and if you are looking at Michelin, I'd take a good hard look at the Pilot Exalto A/S. The Pilot Sport A/S is a fantastic tire, but they're expensive and very performance oriented. The Exalto A/S is more of an all season tire with a hint of performance. Also, it is rated as being very quiet and smooth. Costco quoted me $525 out the door (for 225/55/16), and that includes lifetime balance and rotation.

Me too. Best tires ever. Get ready to shell out some cash though.
