Default Bad motormounts?

I have been feeling this rough idle vibration on my seat from time to time. Its not the low idle problem, it idles fine, it just idles rough sometimes when i first start it, I can feel it in the seat. Car has about 120K. GS4

Could it be bad motormounts? What are the sympthoms of bad mounts? Or is my baby gettign old and ragged

To check them have the car on and in drive hold the brake down push the gas and have someone watch the engine and see how much movement you get, and try the samething in reverse to. hope this helps.

Hello, sounds like your motor mounts and trans mount have collapsed. the feeling in your seat is from the trans flexing. normally when your trans mount goes its because
your motor mounts are bad.

Is changing the trans mount a major job? I know the part is less than $100, but what about the labor? Is it as difficult to change as the motor mounts?

Tranmission mount is EASY to change, relative to engine mount. I rather change 10 tranny mounts than 1 engine mount

That's good to hear. I recently had my motor mounts changed, but they didn't do the trans mount, and I was thinking of having it done. Assuming it's not a major job, maybe I'll have it taken care of at my next oil change.

Just got the diagnosis today. Can anyone tell me if i'm ordering the right part numbers from Sewell Lexus? I've got the front R/L mounts, but not sure about the rear (transmission) mount. Can someone give me the correct item number please?

So far i have these in my cart:

Lexus OEM Engine Mounting Bracket Front No.1 Rh
Item: 12311-50070 Available $45.51

Lexus OEM Engine Mounting Bracket Front No.1 Lh
Item: 12315-50070 Available $45.51

Lexus OEM Engine Mounting Insulator Rear No.1
Item: 12371-50070 Available $67.10

Do i need these as well?:

12381-50070
Lexus OEM Engine Mounting Stabilizer Engine and Cooling > Mounting $18.11

12391-50040
Lexus OEM Engine Mounting Front Insulator Heat Lh Engine and Cooling > Mounting $10.30

If you want to change the engine and transmission mounts, you need these parts:

(2) engine mounts: 12361-50110
(1) tranmission mount: 12371-50070

Each engine mount is about $100 or so.

No need for any other brackets.

Thanks for the info. So to make sure i don't foul this up and order the wrong parts, i need the following:

2 - Lexus OEM Engine Mounting Insulator Front
Price $119.13 each
12361-50110

1 - Lexus OEM Engine Mounting Insulator Rear No.1
Price $74.56
12371-50070

These are the only items that i need to order to replace the motor mounts in my car, correct? Sorry for being persistent, just don't wanna "F" up and have to send everything back and restart from scratch.
