Yes fiend.... taking my L1 alternative test tomorrow.. dam it lol Pass my A6 and A8 with 80 percent so L1 shouldnt be that hard... im taking classes at a local city college (COSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE) in Sac, not UTI or wyotech.. im broke cant afford to pay tuition when i have my own family and 3 years old son to support when im only 23 lol

makes no sense of going to uti or wyotech and pay 30k when i can get the same amount of info from a city college and still get a license saving 29k right???

and + i know a lot (i mean a lot) of people who graduated and loss 30k down the drain and at home sittin on your butt.. got me thinking, but i did sign up but ended up back down on the offer because of it. a lot of people say its worth it but to me its not.. they got money to waste so thats them, i dont haha

Thought I would add to this thread by stating my car just threw the codes of: p0440, p0441, and p0446.

for reference my car is a 2001 GS430 with 167K miles on it. ill update this post when I try all the inexpensive fixes everyone has tried. to be continued.......

pandags430- my car had the same codes when all i needed was to reconnect that tube. just locate the tube and you'll be fine.

i forgot to mention that i saw the codes happen immediately after filling up my gas tank. maybe the same happened to you?

Update on codes:

found a vacuum hose that came apart above the differential..... this hose in particular can be seen from the rear left fender well when the wheel is off. it has no hose clamps what-so-ever. its comes down from what looks to be the re-fueling tube and continues on to a box right above the differential. that's the best i can describe it.

I fixed this awhile back but forgot to post my findings, I am no longer throwing codes. Hope this helps...

So does anyone have the part number, and a source other than the dealer for this part?

Thanks,

I too am the victim of the PO446 code. I have checked the gas cap and everything seems to be fine. There's no rust or anything that might affect the seal. The cap gasket seems to be in good condition also. So I proceeded to check the hose leading to the purge valve as instructed in one of the threads here. The hose was still connected and there's no sign of dry rot or any visible tears or leak. So I decided to remove the purge valve to check it out. I doesn't seem to be plugged up. But I believe that it's stuck in the open position, reason being that I'm able to blow air in both direction. Now I will be hitting up the local autoparts store for a purge valve. I will give update later.

I came to find out the the purge valve is called PIPE, FUEL VAPOR FEED (part #23818-46110) and that it's a dealer only item. So I called the nearest Lexus dealer and was quoted $15 and change, but that the part is a special order. I checked the Sewell website and it's like $8 and change, $18 total shipped to me. Now I have to do the waiting game.
