Drive belt tensioner replacement
Hey guys I wanted to ask if anyone has changed their serpentine belt tensioner how difficult of a job is it? I've looked at diagrams and a couple other threads and it doesn't look that bad.

Changing the tensioner isn't hard at all on most cars but it looks like its a total PITA on the 3UZ. Its only 3 bolts on the 2JZ. Here's a guide for you:

You can also search on google for previous posts on the site if you add "site:www.clublexus.com" before your search terms to find what you need. The search on the site is awful.

I did this today while replacing my power steering pump. If you have any DIY experience its not hard just time consuming. Did it all from the top without even jacking up the car, but that was probably easier with the ps pump out of the way. Have to remove a fair amount of stuff to get to it - all the intakes, radiator hose, alternator, cam pulley cover, ps pulley. I used this excellent DIY guide: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...tensioner.html
Took me half a day basically but that was with replacing the PS pump which is a fairly messy job in itself. I'd say go for it.
